The WLEII Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee (JATC) labor-management group is committed to providing an adequate supply of trained insulation mechanics with the competitive skills necessary to meet industry needs now and in the future. The JATC coordinates our apprenticeship-training program, which is structured for entry level workers as well as insulation workers already employed within the industry who wish to upgrade their skills and advance to journeymen status – while also benefiting from membership in Local Union 45.

Classroom instruction and on-the-job training make our apprentices the industry leaders of the future. They not only are educated in the installation, design, and maintenance of insulation systems, but also the safe removal, handling, and proper disposal of hazardous materials, such as mold and asbestos.

National Insulation
Training Program

Our JATC works with the National Insulation Training Program (NITP), a new 2-day training program, to provide a variety of professionals with a working knowledge of insulation and insulation systems design. This assists them with avoiding costly mistakes that result in system failure and injury to plant personnel.

The NITP concept is to make the process of designing, specifying and installing insulation quicker, easier and more accurate by providing tools developed and proven by experts.

For more information, visit NITP.
